The effects of the global pandemic, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) are being felt all over the world, including here at the Redcliffe District Rugby League Football Club.
At Dolphins, our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our players, staff and supporters who will be hit hard by the crisis. Our team has been closely monitoring the situation and are following the advice of Queensland Health and our governing body, Queensland Rugby League.
After careful consideration, QRL has suspended its statewide competitions and community leagues, effective immediately. The statewide competitions will be suspended until June 5, and all junior and senior community rugby league until at least the first weekend of May.
Redcliffe Dolphins supports the decision of Queensland Rugby League, and are committed to working with all representatives of the game and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and wellbeing of players, staff and supporters.
In this unchartered territory, our club is working through the implications of the season suspension for our players, staff, season ticket holders, sponsors and rugby league community. We thank them for their unwavering support and patience as we navigate through this difficult time.
The Redcliffe District Rugby League Football Club has a proud history and will remain strong in this challenging time. We are committed to standing by our Rugby League Community, Stakeholders, Sponsors, Supporters and wider community as we face the months ahead.
