NRL Trial Returns To Dolphin Stadium

The Moreton Bay Region’s own boutique stadium, Dolphin Stadium, will play host to a blockbuster match between the Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans on Saturday 29th February 2020 when they clash in what will be their last trial before the NRL season officially kicks off.

General Manger of Football Grant Cleal said the Stadium has seen capacity crowds for the Intrust Super Cup Grand Final and Hyundai A-League Matches in recent months and expectations of yet another sell out for the NRL Trial are high.

“We have basically sold out every NRL Trial we’ve hosted over the last several years. If history tells us anything, it’s that our community love their rugby league and come February everybody is keen to get out and watch some great games featuring players they are likely to see in the starting line ups once the NRL season starts just over a week and a bit later.”

Grant Cleal said the Club is using the opportunity to not only play host to some great footy, but will be kick-starting fundraising efforts for its 2020 Charity Partner, Smart Pups.

“We want to rally our Dolphins community to help us change the life of a child and their family by presenting someone with a Smart Pups Assistance Dog later in 2020. Every dog costs around $30,000 to train so this is our fundraising goal for 2020,” General Manager of Football Grant Cleal said.

Tickets for the trial start at $17 for a concession and $27 for an adult (plus booking fees) and include general admission for unreserved seating in either the Des Webb Stand or Eastern Grand Stand. Tickets will be available on the day subject to availability for $20 concession and $30 adults.

Gates will open at 1.30pm and there will be four big games of football. All Dolphins senior teams will take on classic rivals Wynnum Manly starting with the Mal Meninga Cup at 2.30pm, Hastings Deering Colts at 3.45pm and the Intrust Super Cup at 5.15pm. At 7pm, the Brisbane Broncos will kick off against the Gold Coast Titans in what will be their last trial before the NRL season starts.

Hospitality packages are available both in the Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism Corporate Area at the top of the Des Webb Stand and the Sky Deck on Level 1 of the Redcliffe Leagues Club.
