The Redcliffe District Rugby League Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former Dolphin Troy Mitchell (Storm Boy).
Troy, a former Australian U15 Rep, joined the Dolphins family at 16 in 1993, moving from the Northern Territory. Troy’s career with the Dolphins included winning the Colts Premiership in 1993, Reserve Grade Premiership in 1997 and the First Grade Premiership in 2000.
Troy was the recipient of the Don McLennan Trophy in 1997 and only missed playing in the 1994 and 1999 Grand Finals due to injury. Troy played his last game for the Dolphins in the 2002 Reserve Grade Grand Final, after spending a decade with the Club. Troy has been remembered by his former team mates as a loyal and inspirational team mate who was first and foremost a Club man.
The Dolphins wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Troy’s family. Rest easy Storm Boy.
