The Dolphins’ junior representative teams and Hostplus Cup squad took to the field over the weekend, kicking off their 2024 campaigns with tough matchups across multiple competitions.

In the Brisbane Rugby League competition, the Dolphins fought hard but fell to Ipswich 4-20. The Harvey Norman U17s and U19s both put in spirited performances but came up short against Tweed, 20-24 and 24-36, respectively.

The Cyril Connell Cup side showed resilience but couldn’t overcome Tweed, going down 4-18, while the Mal Meninga Cup squad put in a strong effort but were defeated 12-22. In the Hostplus Cup trial, the Dolphins pushed Ipswich but ultimately fell 12-24.

Despite the results, there were plenty of promising signs across the grades as the teams continue to build for the season ahead.

Stay tuned as our junior representative sides prepare for Round 2, and our Hostplus Cup squad continues its pre-season trials.
