It was a strong weekend for the Redcliffe Dolphins junior representative teams and BRL A Grade squad, with dominant performances across multiple grades. Here’s how the action unfolded:

Mal Meninga Cup (U19s)

Redcliffe Dolphins 48 def. Wynnum Manly Seagulls 0
The Dolphins’ Mals side side put on a clinical display, showcasing their depth of talent that includes several second-generation NRL players and current NRL Dolphins Development squad members. Nine different tries were shared across the team, with Reeco Kirk bagging a double. Playmaker Noah Fien was instrumental, not only scoring a try but also converting six of them. The Dolphins set the tone early with a 26-0 lead at halftime and never let up, highlighting their defensive resilience by keeping the Seagulls scoreless.

Cyril Connell Cup (U17s)

Wynnum Manly Seagulls 42 def. Redcliffe Dolphins 10
It has been a challenging season for the Cyril Connell Dolphins, who field a young squad featuring several players still under 17. Despite their effort, Wynnum Manly proved too strong, running in eight tries to Redcliffe’s two. Kyron Arthy and Dallas Carmody crossed the line for the Dolphins, while Damien Hewitt added a conversion. The team will be looking to gain valuable experience from these tough matches and continue developing as the season progresses.

Harvey Norman U19s (Women’s)

Redcliffe Dolphins 20 def. Wynnum Manly Seagulls 8
The Dolphins’ U19 Women’s team put in a composed performance, capitalising on early opportunities to build a lead they never surrendered. Tia Molo struck in just the second minute, with Grace Filipo and Deleni Paitai following suit. A late try from Bernadette Papani sealed the win, while conversions from Ruby Bezgovsek and Tianah Teo added crucial points. The Dolphins controlled possession well, particularly in the second half, frustrating the Seagulls’ attack and ensuring a well-earned victory.

Harvey Norman U17s (Women’s)

Redcliffe Dolphins 42 def. Wynnum Manly Seagulls 4
A breakthrough moment for the Dolphins’ HN U17 Women as they secured their first win of the season in emphatic fashion. Ofa Kalauta got them off to a perfect start in the opening minute, and from there, they never looked back. Nanina Defty bagged a double, while Sinalei Tupu, Jazmin Askew, Shannon Harrison, and Shar-Lene Nati all contributed to the try-scoring spree. Mya Tronc was reliable off the tee, converting four times, while Lenore Georgetown added another. This victory will be a confidence booster as the team looks to build momentum.

BRL A Grade

Redcliffe Dolphins 16 def. Wynnum Manly Seagulls 6
The Dolphins’ BRL A Grade side kicked off the season with a grinding win at Kitchener Park. Defense was the key, as they limited Wynnum to a single try while producing four of their own. Steven Numambo struck early, followed by William Dobson, Caleb Jackson, and a late effort from Levi Wilson to seal the result. Despite missing both conversion attempts, Redcliffe’s defensive grit ensured they came away with the competition points.
