Local Junior Returns in 2019

Local Junior Harry Smith has returned to Redcliffe, signing on for the Village Motors Dolphins for the 2019 season. Harry played his junior football for the Dolphins coming through the Club’s Development program and playing in junior representative sides. He returns after a successful couple of seasons with the 2018 Premiership winning Cronulla Sharks Under 20’s, with Harry scoring a try in the Grand Final.

Dolphins Football Club General Manager Grant Cleal is pleased to see the young player back, having known his work ethic as a junior. “Harry was always very fit. He is a really tough young player who came through as a half back.  We were sorry to see him leave to join the Sharks but it has improved his all round game I am sure,” Cleal said. “He played mainly hooker down south which has added versatility to his game,” Cleal said.

Harry said he enjoyed his time in Cronulla however is happy to be home and training with the senior squads. “Going to Sydney was a great opportunity but I was away from my family and mates. That’s been the best thing about coming back to Redcliffe and getting a shot with my junior Club,” he said.
