The U19 Queensland Maroons emerging squads for both men and women have been selected, marking an exciting step in the development of Queensland’s next generation of rugby league stars.

The squads will meet this Sunday in an emerging planning day, allowing the teams to get to know each other and begin their preparations.

Both squads will participate in the high-performance program, a key component of Queensland’s elite Origin pathways. The program plays a crucial role in shaping future state representatives by providing young athletes with top-tier coaching and development opportunities.

Established to support talented players and coaches in achieving rugby league excellence, the emerging program fosters elite skills, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the game. It serves as a launching pad for athletes striving for Queensland representation at the highest level.

Leading the men’s Under 19 squad is head coach Darius Boyd, who brings a wealth of Origin experience to the role. Assisting him are Andrew McCullough and Jesse Maclean, both instrumental in guiding and mentoring the players. Together, they work closely with the QRL Performance and Pathways team to deliver a structured and impactful program.

The Harvey Norman Queensland Under 19 women’s team is spearheaded by head coach Maia Tua-Davidson, supported by assistant coaches Mitch Sargent and Matt Sanders.
