Redcliffe Dolphins take out 2025 BRL A-grade premiership
The Redcliffe Dolphins have claimed the 2025 BRL A-grade premiership, with the minor premiers showing plenty of heart and fight as they ran away with a 32-6 victory over the Carina Tigers.
The dominant Dolphins, coached by Dunamis Lui, did not take a backwards step in the grand final clash at BMD Kougari Oval as they surged towards a much-deserved win after an impressive 2025 season.
Redcliffe set the tone from the opening minutes of the game, when fullback Michael McGrath diffused a possible Carina try early, with a stunning effort to take runaway winger Tea-Rani Woodman Tuhoro over the sideline.
Eight minutes later, the Dolphins reaped the benefits, with the first points coming through centre Montel Lisala, who buried his way under a pile of defenders to score.
Winger Steven Numambo – the major semi-final hero – followed up just minutes later, showing impressive acceleration to score in the right corner and extend the lead.
Carina scored their only try with just 10 minutes remaining in the second stanza but Redcliffe halfback Thomas Casey responded shortly after, scoring off his own kick to go into the break up 18-6.
Redcliffe then owned the second half, with Casey putting Caleb Jackson over midway through before Jackson put the finishing touches on with a runaway intercept try, going nearly 70 metres to wrap the match up at 32-6.
