The Redcliffe Dolphins return home to Kayo Stadium this Saturday to take on the Sunshine Coast Falcons in round 18 of the Hostplus Cup.

Currently sitting second on the ladder, the Dolphins have the chance to close the gap on Sunshine Coast in what shapes as one of the biggest games of the round. With both teams enjoying strong seasons, supporters can expect a quality contest between two of the competition’s best sides.

Redcliffe hold a 20 win & 16 loss advantage in the overall head-to-head record. However the Falcons have had the upper hand in recent meetings, claiming an 18-12 victory when the two sides met in Round 5 earlier this season and winning the past 5 clashes between the clubs. Redcliffe will be determined to reverse that trend in front of a home crowd.

The Dolphins have been strong at Kayo Stadium throughout 2026, recording nine wins and a draw this season. Dave Elliotts’s side has also been one of the competition’s most consistent teams this season, averaging 27 points per game while conceding just 17.

One of the key match-ups to watch will be in the halves, where Kyle Coghill takes on former Dolphin Thomas Casey. Coghill has been a key part of Redcliffe’s success this season, providing plenty of spark in attack with seven tries and nine try assists, while also consistently putting his side in good field position and creating opportunities around the game.

Casey has also had a strong season for the Falcons, scoring six tries and setting up 12 more. Having played for the Dolphins before joining Sunshine Coast, he’ll no doubt be looking to make an impact against his former club.

Tomorrows clash is the 2nd instalment of the James Ackerman Cup for 2026. The Cup is currently help by the Falcons from their round 5 victory.

Everyone who attends Saturday’s game will also go into the draw to win a signed Dolphins NRL Jersey.

Kick-off is at 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon at Kayo Stadium, with the match available to watch live via Qplus.tv.
