Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has spent some time with Redcliffe Dolphins players as he toured the club’s impressive precinct.
Frydenberg visited Redcliffe yesterday to discover how the largest junior club in Queensland is readying itself to enter the NRL competition in 2023.
He was taken through the Leagues Club and the club’s impressive commercial gymnasium and aquatic centre by Dolphins’ Group chief executive Tony Murphy in the company of MP for Petrie, Luke Howarth.
Frydenberg was then escorted into Moreton Daily Stadium, where he spent time talking with and passing the ball with both Redcliffe Dolphins junior players and members of the club’s under-19s women’s team.
The Dolphins’ under-19s side will become the first ever Redcliffe women’s senior team when they make their debut in the QRL’s Harvey Norman under-19s competition
To finish the visit, Frydenberg – who is the number-one ticket holder at the Storm – was handed a Dolphins’ jersey by head coach Wayne Bennett.
“The Dolphins will be under the guidance and expertise of Wayne Bennett, a Queensland and rugby league legend,” said Mr Frydenberg.
“Thank you very much to Tony (Murphy) and Wayne (Bennett) and the club for the warm welcome.”
