Vale Ashley Tupaea

The Redcliffe Dolphins are saddened to hear about the passing of Redcliffe Dolphin #329 Ashley Tupaea.

Ashley was recruited to the Dolphins by then first grade coach Darryl Van de Velde for the 1987 season. He was a member of the 1987 grand final side that went down to Brothers at Lang Park.

Ashley was a skilful second rower and was rewarded for his 1987 season with a contract with the Brisbane Broncos.

He would occasionally comeback to play for the Redcliffe Dolphins over the next three seasons when not required by the Broncos.

Redcliffe Dolphins CEO Tommy Butterfield sends his condolences to the Tupaea family.
